SALA 2017: Wendy Sysouphat at Angas Travel

As part of the 2017 South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA), Angas Travel are delighted to be hosting The Nature Tour, an exhibition by Wendy Sysouphat.

Inspired by her experiences as a scientist, a botanist, an artist and writer, Wendy expresses herself through her art and has done so for as long as she can remember.

Using a diverse range of media – including watercolours, drawing with ink, oil on canvas, and textile methods just to name a few – Wendy captures the intricacies and complexities of the natural world around us.

Whether painting the delicate petals of violets and roses or designing a pattern featuring native Australian butterflies, Wendy conducts in-depth research of her subject before putting pencil to paper and sketching out her ideas. She then takes more time and care to finalise a design before she adds layers of paint or textiles. Through these processes, Wendy creates inspiring, colourful artworks that will leave you awe-inspired.

As well as originals and digital prints, gift cards and unframed fine art prints are available for sale.

Thirty percent of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to Courage for Cody. This organisation was set up to assist in funding the current and future needs of young sportswoman Cody Gray who was left with quadriplegia after suffering a fall on a skiing holiday at the age of 16.

Today, Cody is a vibrant and strong young woman in her second year at the University of South Australia. Although she’s not living the future she had planned, we know she will excel in wherever life takes her.

Check out Wendy’s artwork, The Nature Tour will be on display at Angas Travel until 31 August 2017, open Monday through Friday 9am – 4pm at 10/154 Fullarton Road, Rose Park SA 5067.

While you’re there, be inspired to book an exciting trip away with one of the Angas Travel professionals. You won’t regret it!
