Regione Siciliana, commonly known as Sicily, is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea south of the Italian Peninsula.

During your 10-day stay, you will visit the breathtaking towns of Palermo, Taormina and Siracusa, providing the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the culture. You will stay well rested in deluxe hotel suites (with breakfasts, services and most taxes included). All transfers to destinations and airports are included and organised for you, allowing you to see the magnificent sites with ease.

With such a rich history and culture in the arts, music, literature and architecture, this guided tour of the region will provide you with an in-depth look at some of the most prominent ancient and archaeological sites known to man, such as the Valley of Temples.

Day 1

Flight and arrival into Palermo Airport. A minivan transfer with a private English speaking driver will take you to Palazzo Brunaccini Hotel where you’ll stay in double deluxe rooms.

Spend the afternoon exploring Palermo at your leisure.

Dinner at Trattorio Biondo – simple, genuine Sicilian food with a range of dishes and wines.

Day 2

After breakfast at hotel, tour Palermo with local expert tour guide. Depart from the hotel and stroll through medieval areas to see sites from Baroque and Arabian-Norman times. Includes tours of Piazza Pretoria and its Renaissance fountain the Quattro Canti, as well as San Giovanni degli Eremiti, one of the best known Norman monuments. Last stop, Palazzo dei Normanni – the most important monument in Palermo.

Afternoon to explore.

Day 3

Breakfast at hotel.

Private driver and tour guide to the Valley of Temples. See the temples, ruins and tombs of the World Heritage Site – an incredible example of Greater Grecian art and architecture.

Followed by a visit to museum of Greek artefacts.

Day 4

Private drive into the surrounding areas of Palermo with expert guide. See the village of Monreale and visit the Duomo of Monreale founded in 1172 by the Norman King William II and filled with mosaics by Sicilian and Byzantine artists.

Finish tour in Corleone with visit the Duomo and prehistoric museum.

Day 5

Check out of hotel.

Minivan transfer to Toarmina, stopping at en Castelbuono for horseback riding, lunch and wine tasting with a private sommelier.

Check in to Hotel Villa Diodoro. The hillside position and outdoor pool boasts panoramic sea views and is just a 5-minute walk to historic town centre.

Day 6

Breakfast at hotel. 

Introduction to Taormina with private guide. Visit The Greek Theatre built in the 3rd Century by the Greeks and later remodelled by the Romans, and the medieval palace Palazzo Corvaja. Followed by a wander through the public gardens.

Afternoon at leisure.

Dinner at Al Saraceno, located just before the ancient church Madonna della Rocca and below the medieval castle Castello Saraceno. The view looks out to Naxos Bay and Mount Etna. Firewood oven pizzas are a must.

Day 7

Local expert and driver accompanies you to Mount Etna, one of the greatest, most beautiful and active volcanoes in the world. While there, walk to the Silvestri craters and the latest lava flows and craters dated between 2001 and 2003.

After, enjoy local wines before visiting the Giardini Naxos, a village famous for its beachers and panoramic view.

Day 8

Check out of hotel.

Private minivan to Siracusa.

Check into GH Ortigia for Junior Suites. A rooftop terrace and glass elevator overlooking the sea are just two of the incredible features of the Grand Hotel.

Spend the afternoon walking the highlights of Siracusa with your local guide. Learn about the town built on ancient Greek settlement founded by Corinthians in 734 BC. See the Greek Theatre of Neapolis, the Roman amphitheatre and Latomia del Paradiso. Visit Duomo Square, built above a Greek temple with more than 2,500 years of history.

Walk back to hotel, stopping along the way to view important buildings and visit local Sicilian markets.

Day 9

Breakfast at hotel.

Stroll through Noto, with your guide. Located at the foot of the Iblean Mountains, the town and its church were declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Visit Porta Reale, Civic Museum and the Franciscan Convent before driving through the Natural Reserve of Vendicari.

Dinner at Al Mazarì Restaurant.

Day 10

Breakfast at hotel before checkout. Minivan transfer to Catania Airport.
